I take pictures as part of my living. I'm also an experienced ecologist, with a varied client base, ranging from national to local government, NGOs and consultancies.

Photography.
My background is mainly in illustrative photography for editorial or technical use. However, I also have a strong commitment to a strand of picture taking that people often classify as art. I don't know if I agree with them.

Ecological Services.
Using standard survey methodology for vegetation, habitat and faunal work. I also carry out independent surveys of both European and Nationally protected species for planning consultations. I'm based near Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire in Scotland, but am equally at home in the variety of habitats that Britain and Northern Ireland have to offer. I can also develop and adapt methodology to suit your particular project needs.

Workshops.
We are planning some workshops (who isn't!) although these will concentrate on botanical photography, and exploring the best wildflower habitats that Perthshire has to offer, but with some more general natural history and landscape photography also in the mix. They are reasonably priced small group workshops, normally with a maximum of three people per group. Please see my Facebook page or blog for details.
